We work independently, but are always in close contact with other medical actors . We keep each other informed about our plans, prevent ourselves from unnecessarily doing things twice, and collaborate if possible.
Laguna Collective is a group of professionals with a wide variety of backgrounds and expertise promoting mental health and social connectedness amongst forcibly displaced and underserved populations. Laguna serves as a platform and basis for the development and implementation of new ideas, and provides trainings, supervision, and consultation, and advises on the scientific evaluation of programs. Laguna Collective provides training to the volunteers of Boat Refugee Foundation on various themes regarding mental health and psychological (first) aid.
Humedica, founded in 1979 and situated in Kaufbeuren (Bavaria), is an international non-governmental organisation, which provides humanitarian assistance in more than 90 countries. Humedica aims to help people, who suffer hardship due to disasters or structural poverty. Besides its focus on emergency and disaster relief humedica also engages in relief supply assistance, family sponsorships as well as in long-term projects of development cooperation. This work is rendered possible thanks to the support of voluntary rescue teams as well as local partner organisations and employees in the respective project countries. Humedica has a large number of medical volunteers and helps Boat Refugee Foundation in the recruitment of doctors and nurses for BRFs operations in Greece.
