Volunteer Translator English to Somali/Amharic, or other languages
Boat Refugee Foundation is seeking an enthusiastic volunteer who is skilled in translating English to Somali or Amharic. Should you be fluent in any other languages please contact us. As a volunteer translator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our humanitarian aid efforts for refugees and migrants.
Job description
- Translate English documents, letters, and other relevant information into Somali or Amharic. Should you be fluent in any other languages please contact us;
- Translate carefully and accurately to ensure the message is conveyed correctly;
- Work remotely from home with flexible working hours, in consultation with the volunteer coordinator;
- Collaborate with the volunteer coordinator to discuss the needs and priorities of translation tasks.
Requirements
- Fluent proficiency in both English and Somali or Amharic, particularly in written form. Should you be fluent in any other languages please contact us;
- Experience in translation work and knowledge of specific terminology is a plus;
- Reliability, accuracy, and attention to detail;
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines;
- Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with the volunteer coordinator and other team members of Stichting Bootvluchteling.
