Privacy statement

Boat Refugee Foundation processes personal and other data consistent with current legislation. We highly value your privacy and handle your personal data with care. Your personal data is solely used by or on behalf of us and is not available to third parties without your explicit consent. Below you will find all information on what to expect from us and to which rules we comply.

Application

This privacy statement is applicable to the processing of:

the personal data provided by donors, relations and volunteers, and data retrieved by your visit to and use of our website.

Processing your data

Boat Refugee Foundation maintains records of her donors, including personal data of other relations. Relations are people who have registered for a newsletter or are involved with the foundation (as a volunteer) but are not a donor.

Boat Refugee Foundation calls on her donors and relations through actions and campaigns to contribute to the objective of the foundation. Boat Refugee Foundation’s work is mostly financed by donations coming from funds and donors. We collect personal data (name, address, phone number, e-mail address, date of birth and bank account number) to provide targeted information about our work, to ask you for financial support and to collect donations.

We collect personal data when you register for our newsletter and when you apply as a donor or volunteer. This information is collected through an application form or (paper) authorisation form.

Boat Refugee Foundation, in principle, does not use third party services to fill and update our relation administration. We occasionally (up to 3 times per year) use an external party who sends out a mailing to their contact list including e-mail addresses of churches in the Netherlands.

Your data will not be disclosed to third parties.

Boat Refugee Foundation carries the ANBI-status.

Access, change or delete your data

You can always access your personal data collected by us, or request us to change or delete them. Any changes can be reported to Boat Refugee Foundation’s administration by e-mail: info@bootvluchteling.nl

Please also use this e-mail address if you wish to no longer be updated about our activities. Boat Refugee Foundation is obliged to ask you for a proof of identity before we can provide your personal data logged in our administration. You can also file a request by e-mail or by letter, including your name, address, phone number and a copy of a valid identification document, addressed to: Boat Refugee Foundation’s administration, P.O. Box 8036, 6710 AA, Ede.

E-mail

If you have provided us with your e-mail address by subscribing to our newsletter, as a donor or when requesting information, you will be contacted by e-mail about our work, achieved results and occasional requests for financial support.

When sending out newsletters by e-mail, Boat Refugee Foundation uses a programme that provides us with insights about how these newsletters are opened. It also shows if links in the newsletter were clicked. These data give us input to optimise the way we distribute information to you, and how to tune into the interests of our readers. Our programme includes the possibility to make selections, which helps us to target specific groups. The collected information can never be traced back to individuals, but rather gives us a general overview.

Unsubscribe from our newsletter

Would you like to receive less or no e-mails at all from us? You can always unsubscribe with Boat Refugee Foundation’s administration (info@bootvluchteling.nl). At the end of every newsletter an unsubscribe button is included as well.

Contact with donors and relations

Boat Refugee Foundation informs donors and relations about her work through the website, by e-mail and/or social media. This will often be accompanied by a request to support Boat Refugee Foundation’s work financially or by volunteering.
